Something wicked this way comes to Asbury Park, NJ on October 29. The annual Weird NJ Halloween party rolls into town for a one night rock and roll fright fest.

Come dressed as your favorite Weird NJ character or legend. Prizes awarded for most original costume with a Weird NJ theme.  A grand prize package of everything,  (that's right, EVERYTHING) ever published or produced in the last 13 years by Weird NJ will be raffled off at the end of the evening.

The event will be hosted by Mark and Mark, straight back from the road filming their "Weird US" television series on The History Channel. MC of the evening is WFMU deejay Glen Jones, who will bring his brand of rock 'n roll radio to the stage at the Stone Pony. This will be a filmed event, and anyone attending must be advised that admission and purchase of tickets are a consent to be filmed at the club.

Music will be provided by High School Sweethearts who are guaranteed to blow the roof off the house. Also on the bill is the Super Fun Time Karaoke Band.  This is everyone's chance to be a star this evening. Sing your favorite rock and roll songs with a live band. You can go to the website and download the song list and start practicing!

Special guests also include the band Holmes providing some rock 'n roll fever to kick off the evening, and Halloween films provided by Backyard Productions throughout the night. Who knows who or what else will show up this year!

WORLD TELEVISON PREMIERE: Monday Aug. 1, 10pm (Eastern and Pacific)

The through-the-looking-glass travel guide into the strange side of American history is now a weekly series! Take a fun-filled, tongue-in-cheek, fast-paced journey across the country in search of local legends and myths to find out if there is any historical validity to all these tall tales in our new weekly series WEIRD U.S. The one-hour world premiere on The History Channel debuts Monday, August 1 at 10 pm ET/PT. A sneak preview of WEIRD U.S. (our pilot that aired last year) will air on Sunday, July 31 at 11 pm ET/PT.

From The History Channel:

'Based on the best-selling book of the same name, WEIRD U.S. is a deliciously demented weekly tour of offbeat American history. Host/authors Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran scour the country in search of the bizarre, the unexplained, and the really strange historical stories that never got into the history books, because, as they say, 'history is full of weirdos.'

In each episode of WEIRD U.S., follow the two Marks as they go off the beaten path to expand their research across the weird American landscape of Melon Heads, Phantom Clowns, Foulke Monsters, Prairie Moon Gardens, and Slimy Slim. Some of the people and places they encounter are disturbing, others hilarious, but all are very weird.

Hosts Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran are the publishers of Weird NJ Magazine, which documents New Jersey's less celebrated history and tourist attractions. They followed the cult success of their publication with the best-selling books Weird NJ and Weird U.S and are now producing many other Weird state books. No matter the 'weirdity,' the two Marks are on the case, determined to uncover the truth'and to sometimes discover that history is stranger than fiction.'

http://www.HistoryChannel.com/WeirdUS

The First Nine episodes are:
7/31 • Strange but True (pilot)
8/01 • Road to Weirdsville
8/08 • Weird Medicine
8/15 • Weird Worship
8/22 • Rebels and Traitors
8/29 • Crimes and Punishments
9/12 • Weirdly Departed
9/19 • Fact or Fiction?
9/26 • This Odd House
