For several years now we have been investigating the weird goings-on of not only our beloved NJ, but all of the other 49 states as well. We been trying to find out if the weirdness we had uncovered in our native state was unique to our home, or just a small part of a larger national phenomenon. What we discovered was that NJ was indeed a singularly weird place, with its own individual aura. At the same time though, we found that every state in the country had its own fascinating folklore, mysterious myths, and haunted hotspots. While we were able to draw correlations between some of these far-flung stories and those of NJ, many tales were completely new to us.

We began collecting, archiving and studying these stories, comparing and contrasting them with NJ’s own indigenous oddities. Eventually we realized that we had amassed a sizable quantity of weird material. We felt that these stories were just too good to keep all to ourselves, and not share with our readers. So we compiled all of these local legends and strange sites from across the nation into our new book—Weird US.

And now, after years in the making and thousands of miles logged in search of America’s strangest stories, the whole weird tale can be told! We consider this book to be a definitive guide, touching on the weirdness of all 50 states. In it you will find familiar chapter headings such as “Local Heroes” and “Bizarre Beasts,” along with some great first-hand stories and legends we collected from our travels and correspondence.
